Anushavan - According to the historian M. Khorenatsi it was the name of Ara's grandson. Hyubshman connects this word with Zend anaoso ''immortal'' and urvan ''soul'' i.e. ''immortal soul''(Arm. Gram.'' - 20). N. Adonts and H. Ajaryaan are of the same opinion considering it to beconsisted of nos ''cypress'' and avan ''presented''. Thus the name is translated as ''presented with cypress''. It can also be formed of Arm. anush ''sweet'' and avan ''settlement'' .It is still in use.
Avakyan - is a name of Armenian origin. It derives from the Armenian word avag, meaning "oldest", perhaps signifying that a male ancestor was a prominent individual in his community. It may also mean "son of Avak".
